    Surfing - Board & Kite Description

    Cape Town generally has good surf and there are a variety of great surfing spots. The west coast, Blaawberg & Big Bay are excellent for Kite Surfing and Kommetjie is one of the more popular spots for surf contests.

    For the truly insane,Cape Town is one of the world's premier locations for big wave surfing,with waves in excess of 8 meters in places. Dungeons, off Sentinel Peak in Hout bay, plays host to the annual Red Bull Big Wave competition. Other spots are the Crayfish Factory and Misty Cliffs which are in the same area and just as scary!


    1 - Located along the West Coast, around an hour from Cape Town is the Cape Sports Centre, Langebaan. Ideally situated in the lagoon area it offers everything a kite boarder and kite surfer could want, and much more.
